Q. I want to be more active and feel better, but struggling to find time.
Can Vibralife help?
A. Vibralife is a Fitness Clinic, not a gym. Your fitness and wellbeing programme prescribed by our consultants will be based on Bodystat analysis (included in your membership). You activity prescription will be based on 20 min exercise sessions carried out 2 - 3 times a week! The 20 min session in Vibrogym gives you the equivalent of a 70 min workout in a conventional gym. You then have an option to relax and condition your muscles in the Spacapsule condencing 60 min of manual massage to a 10 min session (2 sessions a month are included into your membership, additional session can be purchased at a special rate). 20 min of exercising + 10 min of relaxation, if you think your significant others, friends and career can survive without you for that amount of time then, yes, we can help!
Q. How quickly can I achieve the results?
A. Although Vibralife clients notice results very quickly: increased energy levels, body toning, improvement in general fitness (see testimonials on www.vibralife.co.uk), we do not promise a miracle. The results that you get depend on the amount of effort you put into achieving them and following the advice you’ve been given: the more effort you put in the more you get out!
Q. I have never heard about vibration training before.
How is it different from other ways of exercising?
A. The concept of using vibration therapy was originally developed by Russian scientists to help prevent deterioration in bone density in their astronauts caused by the weightless atmosphere of space. They found standing on a vibrating platform helped stimulate muscle and bone development. Since then, studies have shown that using vibration training can increase muscle strength by 20 to 30 per cent more than with conventional power training. Also, unlike conventional training, the stress on joints, ligaments and tendons is minimal because of the low impact nature of the exercises. For more details please refer to the Research Centre on our web site www.vibralife.co.uk
Q. What are the benefits of vibration training?
A. It increases flexibility and mobility
It improves blood circulation
It strengthens bone tissue
It helps reduce pain
It produces stronger, more efficient muscles
It increases production of the hormone serotonin, also called the 'happiness hormone', a substance that supports our thinking process
Q. How do you exercise on a vibration platform? Do you just stand on it?
A. Far from it! There are 100s of exercises you can do on a Vibrogym, ranging from stabilisation, power, strength and aerobic exercises. Fortunately or unfortunately you have to put significant effort into your 20 min session. Imagine, your muscles contract 30 – 50 times per second. Try to achieve the same through conventional exercising!
Q. I have seen vibration plates sold at supermarkets, in magazines and on shopping channels. Will I get the same results if I use one at home?
A. 3 rules to remember:
1. Any Vibration DOES NOT = Vibration training
2. Light vibration = Therapy
3. Heavy vibration = Training
The Vibrogym is based on 100% vertical vibration, which is the best for vibration training. Other vibration plates do not provide 100% vertical vibration as they also vibrate horizontally. With prolonged use this can cause damage the joints as they are not designed for horizontal movement.
Q. A friend of mine thinks vibration training is “cheating”. What would you say?
A. It is definitely not cheating as YOU do the work not the machine!
Would you call the Lions rugby team a bunch of girls? Here’re a few examples of Vibrogym users: F.C. Barcelona, Spartak Moscow, Glasgow Rangers, Chelsea FC, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Super Bowl Champions) are just a few examples of leading sport clubs using Vibrogym.
Individual users include Jane Fonda, Clint Eastwood, Ivana Trump, Anthony Hopkins, Rod Stewart, Anny Lennox among hundreds of others.
Q. Can I book just a few sessions at Vibralife?
A. We are members club. However, should you wish to complement your existing exercise regime with a regular Vibrogym class, we offer PAYG scheme at £7.00 per class. Our Spacapsule studio, physiotherapy and Skin and Body Studios are also open to non-members. Members, however, are offered a very lucrative scheme for additional treatments.
Q. I have a medical condition. Can I become a member of Vibralife?
A. Yes and yes again. In certain circumstances we may need to contact your GP to receive a permission to work with your specific medical condition. We may also seek advice from our international medical advisory board, based in London and Miami, prior to prescribing exercise/wellbeing regime. Ultimately, your health is your responsibility. If necessary, please consult your medical practitioner prior to enrolling on Vibralife membership.
